Macbeth (Blog #3)

Do you think it is necessary or excessive that Macbeth kills Macduff's son and wife? The murderers clearly see that Macduff is not there but proceed to kill the innocent child and his mother. How does this help the audience severe their sympathy and attachments towards Macbeth? In addition, predict the outcome of the play.

  1. I don't believe it was necessary to kill Macduff's son and wife for Macbeth. But it is necessary for the audience to see that Macbeth is so blinded by avarice that he kills an innocent child and mother with no purpose. This makes the audience repeal their previous thoughts about Macbeth being a hero and now he becomes an agent of evil. I believe Macduff is going to find out about the true doings of Macbeth and he will tell Malcolm and Donalbain and start an uprising with Fleance against Macbeth.
