Girl, Interrupted (Blog #6)

At certain points the author suggests that there is something comforting, and even seductive, about insanity. What might make madness comforting to a young girl in the late 1960s--or, for that matter, to anyone at any time?

  1. I think the madness and seductive insanity is appealing to these young girls because it is all they know but also they are teenagers. Teens rebel and do mad things and are seductive and insane at times. That makes us who we are. Even though these girls are in a mental hospital they still have a few bonds to real teenage life and some level of insanity is part of being a teenager. You make mistakes and you do stupid things then get mad and do something stupid. You learn from it, these girls just do it more and to more extreme circumstances.
